Don McGriff's Experience

Work History:

As a teenager Don worked from the age of 14 delivering newspapers at 4 in the morning or working in a grocery store.

After his time in the Marines he worked at Sears Roebuck and Company and the L&N Railroad while attending college.

After college Don moved to Fairhope where he bought into an engineering firm that consulted with and provided dockside cranes and equipment to shipyards and ports worldwide. He traveled the world extensively during those years. He was president of Coastal Homebuilders of Daphne.

Don was Vice President of Marketing for an east coast shipyard and crane manufacturer. He co-established a design engineering firm in Daphne in which he served as an owner and officer. He ran a retail establishment and served as Chairman of the Board of American Systems and Services.

Governor Riley appointed him to a three year term on the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles. He resigned as a confidential assistant to the Governor’s office to run for the Senate from Baldwin County.
